Gregor Bartsch is an editor and filmmaker. He was born in Pirna in 1978, did his community service in Ghana and worked as a carpenter and in refuse collection. In 2002, he began studying media technology at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences and continued his studies at UWE Bristol in the field of time-based media. He holds a degree in engineering and a Master of Fine Art from the HFF Konrad Wolf Potsdam. In 2007 he co-directed with Marcus Große Ideal 50 - vom Plan zur Stadt zum Neuen Menschen. Since then he has often worked as a film editor. Various films in which he has been involved have been presented and awarded prizes at national and international festivals. In the field of installation and media art, he deals with the ideas and connections between architecture, landscape and people. He gives workshops in film and film editing at institutions such as the Nigerian Film Cooperation. In 2019 he founded the concept choir Vokalensemble Rechenzentrum. Gregor Bartsch lives and works in Potsdam and Berlin.
Gregor Bartsch ist Editor und Filmemacher. Er wurde 1978 in Pirna geboren, leistete seinen Zivildienst in Ghana und arbeitete als Zimmermann sowie bei der Müllabfuhr. 2002 begann er das Studium der Medientechnik an der FH Deggendorf und setzte es an der UWE Bristol im Bereich der zeitbasierten Medien fort. Er ist Diplom-Ingenieur und hält einen Master of Fine Art der HFF Konrad Wolf. 2007 erschien in Ko-Regie mit Marcus Große Ideal 50 - vom Plan zur Stadt zum Neuen Menschen. Seitdem arbeitet er oft als Filmeditor. Verschiedenste Filme, an denen er mitwirkte, wurden auf nationalen wie internationalen Festivals präsentiert und prämiert. Im Bereich der Installations- und Medienkunst beschäftigt er sich mit den Ideen und Zusammenhängen zwischen Architektur, Landschaft und Mensch. Er gibt Workshops in Film und Filmschnitt an Institutionen, wie der Nigerian Film Cooperation. 2019 gründete er den Konzeptchor Vokalensemble Rechenzentrum. Gregor Bartsch lebt und arbeitet in Potsdam und Berlin.
